The retina is where rods and cones are located, but each has a specific responsibility, and a specific location. The retina is sensitive to light because of the rods and cones that cover it's surface. Rods and cones are photosensitive. In the center of the retina lies the fovea. The fovea is where the greatest perception is generated. That is where most of the cones would be located. The majority of the Fovea is covered with cones. Cones are for color perception. Around the outer edge of the retina is where most of your rods are located. Around the outer edge of retina is where your weakest perception is generated. Since rods do not decode color, only shapes, it is safe to assume that the human mind is more color driven and imaginative, rather than just corralled by shapes and logic.
